Muddy Buddies
This one is straight off of the Chex box.
Ingredients:
9 cups Chex (any)
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup PB
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
The only thing I did different was separate the mix into 3 1-gallon bags, because I had three shakers. Interestingly, all three bags turned out a bit different. The more vigorously they were shaken the darker they looked.

I am making this... and making this soon!
I'm pretty sure they use to make this at the Tillamook hospital and called it "puppy chow". People were always giving it out in decorated coffee cans. It was really popular.
Is it bad if I eat the entire batch before Lucas gets home from work? I could just blame the baby!
